Guitarist Dies Aboard Band's Tour Bus

Casey Calvert, guitarist for the band Hawthorne Heights, died Friday while on the band's tour bus. There has been no ruling on the cause of death, though it has been reported that Calvert suffered from asthma and that may have played a role.

The band posted a message on their website Saturday that read, in part, "At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal."

Hawthorne Heights was scheduled to play a show in Atlanta tonight, but it was canceled.

16. I had a near death exp in Sept. 1996 from an acute asthma attack. I was breathing shallow..never knew I had asthma...I was transported from quickie med place by ambulance to hospital. Although on oxygen wide open...my lungs were not penetrating the oxygen. My fingertips were blue...my lips were blue. I had no idea how sick I was. Ambulance peeps scared me. Otherwise..I wouldn't have known. At time of near death. In hospital room, stood up on side of bed because I couldn't breathe. Not one ounce of air could I breathe. Nurse told me to get back in bed...I did only because I knew to listen to her. Good thing..or I would have fallen in the floor and could have hurt myself. I left my body in a blink of an eye. It was like...oh no ..I can't breathe...the next I was ...well..the only way to describe it...I felt the peace that passeth all understanding..as it says in The Bible. Everything was black...although I was laughing and felt so free. When I told a friend everything was black..she thought I was going to hell..and hasn't spoken to me since..lol. However, I think I was in the 'valley of the shadow of death'. I don't think I would have come back ..except the nurses kept calling my name..it was annoying..I finally answered them. And in the blink of an eye, I was back in my body, soaked with sweat, but feeling extreme peacefullness. They say the last thing to go on you is your hearing when dying. I wondered why it happened to me. In Sept. 2000, my Grandmother died. I think it was a gift, don't think I could have dealt with her death if I hadn't had the near death exp. My thought..best way to go. No pain...quick. I am not afraid of death now. We don't die. How wonderful.

i was shocked to hear about this....i actually cried...

i know this is mean...but i think its funny how after someone famous from a band dies they are everyones favorite member.....
maybe its just me..

RIP Casey Calvert
